Ok. So September also got away from me, yet more stuff going on - all good just very busy! Meanwhile Eva and I did our first ever pick a fence! A pick a fence is a xc competition were you can pick what height you want to jump and each height has a certain number [...]

Happy Monday! How on earth is it the end of July!? This year has been amazing but it is flying by! I feel like I have barely had time to ride with everything going on at the moment but in order to refocus slightly I have entered Eva and I in our next event! Woo hoo [...]

The week before Wednesday night we had a lesson, it had certainly been a while since we had one, and Eva and I did need a bit of a nudge - read "kick up the ass" - in the right direction as I was descending back in to the habit of doing everything. And Eva [...]

Refusing from the starting box…

01/05/201906/01/2020 TheScottishEquestrian2 Comments

We did it! Our first one day event! And her feet? Absolutely fine the ground was perfect for her not too hard or too soft. Granted the dressage felt a bit slippy and the jumping I protected her round because I didn't want us fly round and slipping but nothing that was sore for her [...]

ABANDONED CANCELLED CALLED OFF DROPPED OH THE SHAME Sorry perhaps I'm being a little dramatic. While I watched others on Instagram celebrating their first outing of the year in lovely weather, up here in Scotland the rain continued and it won. As you can see the showjumping warm up arena was looking more like a [...]

First Dressage of the year

|March 2019| Its been almost four months since we last competed in dressage. The horizontal sleet and rain wasn't exactly an encouraging first attempt back! Safe to say there was quite a few withdrawals. As dressage is my weaker phase I always feel I need to put some extra prep into practicing the tests, unfortunately [...]

Lets go eventing!

This year I am hoping to get Eva out and about to some eventing! While I'm very excited I am also a pessimist. Therefore until Eva and I are trotting up the centre line of the dressage phase will not believe that we are actually doing it. However in saying that, I can be prepared [...]

Unaffiliated Jumping // November ’18

02/12/201801/09/2020 TheScottishEquestrianLeave a comment

Last weekend I entered Eva and I in an unaffiliated showjumping competition. I entered us in the 90cm class which was run as a table A7, which means that everyone jumps a round and if clear they go on to a jump off round which is a short course against the clock. Overall I am [...]

Last night my instructor got on and made her do some work! Eva was absolutely furious that she couldn't push him into working harder than she was since she gets away with it with me 😂

Eva's quite sweet with my other half probably because he occasionally turns up and gives her sweets so she's quite happy with that! ♥️♥️
