A video shoot …

An old friend of mine from school has her own creative business and has recently started branching out in to videography. In order to develop her already amazing skills in the area she signed up to video school. As part of the course she was required to create a short film. I am delighted to [...]

The week before Wednesday night we had a lesson, it had certainly been a while since we had one, and Eva and I did need a bit of a nudge - read "kick up the ass" - in the right direction as I was descending back in to the habit of doing everything. And Eva [...]

Here we are the start of summer, and for this summer I am hoping to do a fair amount of going out and about. I need a plan of action not only because I need to make sure I learn the right dressage tests and Eva is fit enough but also from a financial side [...]

We had a miscommunication

10/05/201910/05/2019 TheScottishEquestrian3 Comments

On a bit of a whim I decided to enter Eva in to the 90cm class of a showjumping competition on the yard. I hadn't ridden Eva much that week as I was still very much on the high of doing our first ODE. Obviously Eva is now in ok shape and with that comes [...]

Review : Rydale Askwith Coat

06/05/201914/05/2019 TheScottishEquestrianLeave a comment

Recently I was fortunate enough for a company called Rydale to ask if I would be interested in reviewing a jacket which is part of their new spring collection. Rydale is a British country side clothing brand that you will see at a lot of the country side shows and especially horse shows. Of course [...]

ABANDONED CANCELLED CALLED OFF DROPPED OH THE SHAME Sorry perhaps I'm being a little dramatic. While I watched others on Instagram celebrating their first outing of the year in lovely weather, up here in Scotland the rain continued and it won. As you can see the showjumping warm up arena was looking more like a [...]

Madam had a duvet day since the fields were recovering from all the rain. ☔ So after a session in the indoor working on our canter we headed out for a wee wander to stretch her legs 🐎 - #equestrian #equine #horse #horsesofinstagram #horseriding #horseoftheday #chestnutmare #irishsportshorse #equestrianlife #mare #vsco #horsesofinsta #horseworld #bestofequines #equestriansofinstagram
Tonight we started off bouncing on the spot and spooking but by the end we were clearing some 1.10s🐎🐎😊 - When I first went into the arena I wasn't even planning on jumping the bigger jumps and put half of them down then as we warmed up she was jumping so well I decided to turn into one of the bigger jumps and it was the best jump of the session. In fact she felt like she was jumping the bigger ones far better than the smaller ones!! 🤔 - #equestrian #equine #horse #horsesofinstagram #horseriding #horseoftheday #showjump #showjumping #chestnutmare #irishsportshorse #equestrianlife #mare #vsco
I hate that it gets dark early but the sunsets are bute ❤️ Evas in early today as I'm off for another dinner out this evening 🌃 - #equestrian #equine #horse #horsesofinstagram #horseriding #horseoftheday #chestnutmare #irishsportshorse #equestrianlife #mare #winter #cold
Throw back to our last SJ round we did. Annoyingly enough we had a silly pole down - entirely my fault - so didn't get through to the jump off. 😔 - I was planning on riding tonight but like an idiot I forgot my jods and getting on in the pencil skirt from work just wasn't an option! 🙈 I normally have a spare in my car but I cleared my car out at the weekend since I'm getting it cleaned on Friday 😅 ah well I put Mrs on the walker and turned up to speed a little so she had to march along rather than her normal saunter 🐎 - #equestrian #equine #horse #horsesofinstagram #horseriding #horseoftheday #showjump #showjumping #chestnutmare #irishsportshorse #equestrianlife #mare #vsco
