Review: Equestrian Co. Walker & Hawkes Derby Tweed Waistcoat

I was recently contacted by a company called Equestrian Co and asked if I would be interested in reviewing a certain product from their site. I selected a beautiful tweed waistcoat and waited with baited breath for it to arrive.

The website itself is very easy to navigate around, with a simple black and white design it is not over complicated.

The delivery was great, the item came within a matter of days.

As I have now totally decided that I can become an instagram model now *snort*, on a Saturday morning walk with my boyfriend decided it was a great opportunity to take some instagramable photos.

Out of the four options available I chose the pink one of the reasons I chose pink was because I own nothing else with pink in it so I thought I would go for something slightly different to what I would naturally pick. Safe to say I am delighted I did!

The other options available are purple, light and dark sage.

As a personal preference I ordered a size up than I needed as I like to have room to have layers under neath. What I didn’t notice while ordering is that there are buttons at either side so that you are able to take it in a the waist slightly which is an added bonus. It allows you to expand it when you have layers underneath or reduce it to make it more fitted when you only have a top on underneath.

The zip is a pretty robust zip that looks like it will do well in outdoor conditions and not break easily.

I love the detailing

I love the fact that the pockets are big and practical yet not too oversized. I did worry that perhaps when wearing it, it would end up being a little clumpy and get in the way however this is not the case.

It is a great piece that I can imagine wearing out to all sorts countryside shows or walks – especially to Blair and the RHS! (Blair Atholl horse trials & the Royal Highland Show)

In summary I think it is a beautiful piece of countryside wear that you can pull out to each country show or outing you go to. It looks very smart when paired with black jeans and boots but also is practical and will serve to keep you warm especially knowing the British weather.
